Make some time to simply sit and appreciate your work.
Your garden is in full bloom, and there’s plenty to do to keep it thriving, from watering vegetables during dry spells to staying on top of weeding. But July is a time to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Take a stroll through your garden or sit down with a cup of tea, and appreciate all the hard work you’ve put in.
Things to do this month
- Check plants regularly to see if they need watering. If they do, give them a thorough soaking.
- Open greenhouse doors and vents on hot days.
- Turn the compost in your bin to keep it well aerated.
- Remove algae and black weed from waterways to prevent takeover.
- If you have a bird bath, keep them topped with water as birds need a daily supply of fresh water.
- Check plants and vegetables regularly for pests and diseases so they don’t get out of control.
