First month of Summer, everything’s in bloom.

June

June marks the start of summer and is the ideal time to dive into your garden. This month is ideal for planting a wide variety of fruit, vegetables, herbs and spices, or for moving them outside if you’ve already stated growing them indoors. Always be mindful of the weather, June can be particularly hot and may dry out your garden, so be sure to keep an eye on it and water regularly.

Things to do this month
  • Check plants regularly to see if they need watering. If they do, give them a thorough soaking.
  • Turn the compost in your bin to keep it well aerated.
  • Remove algae and black weed from waterways to prevent takeover.
  • If you have a bird bath, keep them topped with water as birds need a daily supply of fresh water.
  • Check plants and vegetables regularly for pests and diseases so they don’t get out of control.
